Texas Gas Service will be hosting a Virtual Career Fair on June 2nd, 2020 and seeking qualified candidates for Field Tech positions. At this event you will have the opportunity to learn more about the position, ask questions, and potentially be invited for same day and next day interviews via video conferencing. All you need to attend this event is a computer, tablet, or smartphone with internet access and a front facing camera/mic. Performs construction and maintenance work related to a pipeline system.
Perform pipeline construction and maintenance work.
Load, unload, and operate tools and equipment including but not limited to:
Pipe and crescent wrenches
Pipe cutters and threaders
Hammers and screwdrivers
Picks, shovels, and rakes
Air compressors and generators
Plastic fusion irons
Jackhammers and concrete saws
Booms and chains
Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment including but not limited to:
Washing truck and equipment
Fueling truck and checking fluid levels
Changing oil and filters
Maintain various records including but not limited to:
Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.
Employee may be required to perform additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge of use and function of manual tools and equipment.
Knowledge of application of basic arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division (tested).
Experience and knowledge in basic computer functions and relevant software.
Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English.
Minimum Applicable driver's license.
Minimum Qualified Plastic Fusion Technician certification.
Lift or move objects weighing up to 20 pounds 10 15 times a day; up to 40 pounds 7 10 times a day; over 50 pounds 5 6 times a day.
Climb into and out of excavations.
Travel over uneven terrain including but not limited to:
React immediately to emergency situations to prevent injury to self and others.
Smell odorant in natural gas.
Detect and react to warning signals at work sites.
Able to operate tools and equipment required.
Communicate and/or exchange information and instructions including use of company two way radio.
Peripheral vision and accurate depth perception.
Visual abilities sufficient to perform job duties.
