One Gas Senior Commercial Analyst in Austin, Texas
Performs a specialized level of research, interpretation, and analysis related to economic analysis and forecasting, and strategic opportunities. Build predictive analytic models, and algorithms to find unique trends and business solutions to complex problems. Clearly communicate complex data findings and deliver recommendations to senior leadership and all levels of the organization to help drive decisions.
Plan, conduct, and/or review projects such as merger, acquisition, and divestiture opportunities; economic and capital forecasts and models; line extension revenue justifications; bypass analysis; discounted rate deal structures; strategic opportunities; operating and maintenance budgeting; and cost of service studies.
Calculate and evaluate discounted cash flow investments, contracts, rate of return, financial ratios discounts, and present and future values to determine most equitable investments and divestitures.
Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.
Mine and analyze data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques and business strategies.
Build machine learning and data mining algorithms.
Ability to extract meaningful business insights from data and identify the stories behind the patterns and present it simply to all levels of the organization through reports, presentations, etc.
Bachelor's degree in economics, accounting, finance and master’s degree preferred in data science, business analytics, computer science, statistics, applied math or related field with specific job related experience as follows:
Experience with and/or thorough knowledge of corporate financial structure; rate and regulatory processes; evaluation of merger, acquisition, or divestiture opportunities; financial planning; revenue justification of line extensions; strategic planning; bypass threat analysis; and economic forecasting.
Experience and/or training related to:
Industry rate making process and company rate structures (specified by position)
Economic forecasting/modeling and corporate budget functions (specified by position)
Corporate financial analysis and evaluation (specified by position)
Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SQL, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
Experience creating and using advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics: regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modeling, clustering, decision trees, neural networks, etc.
Experience visualizing/presenting data for stakeholders using: Power BI & Excel preferred
Experience leading projects that involve the integration of multiple technologies and datasets to solve complex business problems.
Experience reviewing and interpreting company policies and procedures, economic forecasts, professional accounting standards, governmental regulations, financial statements, contracts, reports, and correspondence.
Demonstrated ability to effectively summarize and present complicated analysis to non-analytical individuals inside and outside of the organization. #Officeoperations
