One Gas Building Maintenance Person in Topeka, Kansas
Kansas Gas Service is currently hiring a Building Maintenance Person for Topeka, KS. This Building Maintenance Person will be part of a team that is responsible for providing routine building inspection, maintenance and repair support for Kansas Gas Service facilities.
Note: The following is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties required of this position. Employees working this position are expected to except and perform other duties as assigned.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Inspection, maintenance and repair of commercial HVAC systems.
Interior and exterior lighting replacement and repair.
Plumbing replacement and repair (including commercial ice machines).
Identify and resolve safety requirements and code compliance (including monthly inspections of facility fire extinguishers and AED equipment).
Minor electrical repairs.
Exterior fencing and gate systems, parking lot pick up and maintenance.
Assist with troubleshooting fire and security and generator systems.
Maintain interior finishes, doors and cabinetry.
Working knowledge of designs, drawings and manuals.
General accommodations for customers, room set up, furniture accommodations and employee relocations.
Regular and reliable attendance.
Must have 4 years of skilled and demonstrated job experience in commercial building HVAC maintenance, troubleshooting, repair.
Safety compliance must be a part of every day job practice. Must have the ability to understand, practice and enforce all ONE Gas Safety Standards.
Perform 8-hour period of work, M-F (typically 7:00am to 3:30pm). Will be subject to overtime and 24-hour callout and extensive travel.
Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry objects on an average of 65 pounds, climb and maintain balance on ladders, kneel, stoop and extended reach while performing building maintenance. Visual ability sufficient to perform job duties. Able to operate tools and equipment as required.
Must have suitable characteristics for making contact and interacting with their customers and the public. Self-starter as well as a team player. Able to prioritize issues and work on multiple projects at a time.
Licenses and Certifications:
Minimum- Valid Class C Driver’s License
Preferred- Mechanical Certification/License
Preferred- Plumbing Certification/LicensePreferred- Electrical Certification/License
